Emily Huss will spend her time at CHS as a special education paraeducator, offering support to both teachers and students throughout the day and hoping to make an impact on every student she interacts with.

“I hope that people remember I was there for them when they needed it,” says Huss. “I want to help students succeed.”

After graduating from Grand Canyon University, Huss chose to pursue education after realizing how much she enjoyed working with kids. Since then, she has worked in education for the past nine years.

“I really like the schedule, but also being around kids in general,” says Huss. “I just figured it was the perfect job for me.”

The time Huss spent in the classroom has given her experience she hopes to use while at CHS. Part of what drew her to working at the high school was the environment and scenery where she spends most of her time when she isn’t in the classroom.

“I love Carmel and the community here,” Huss explains, “but I’m also excited to meet a lot of new people here and help people that need it.”

Although the year has just begun, Emily Huss can’t wait to get to know everyone and make her impact on CHS.
