For four years, Cole Kennedy has shown his talent in lacrosse here at Carmel High, and in his last month of playing, he is the Padre of the Month.
Kennedy led his team to another MTAL title in a league which had previously been dominated by rival Stevenson.
The biggest feat of his year is that he finished the season first in the league in face-offs and ground balls and third on the team in scoring.
The senior led his team on a surge in the second half of the season, which included a five-goal performance in a 16-4 win against York on May 14.
Winning the league championship was the biggest achievement that Kennedy says he has accomplished in lacrosse, and he hopes to take this experience going forward.
“This has been a great experience that I will have for the rest of my life,” the senior says.
Kennedy also says that he would change nothing about this season, and that early losses that the team went through at the beginning of the year only inspired them to go further and win league.
“I hope that this program can continue to win league championships, and eventually build a winning habit,” he says. “Before, it was all Stevenson….and now we have come in and have been the only other team to do that.”
This year marks the end of a great career for Kennedy, and many senior players alike that helped shape a great lacrosse program for years to come.
