Jackson Lloyd, a highly sought-after four-star offensive lineman from Carmel High School with almost 20 Division-I offers, has officially committed to the University of Alabama. The decision, announced June 18, marks a significant boost for the Crimson Tide’s recruiting class.

Known for his formidable skills and impressive physicality, Lloyd plans to graduate high school early to maximize his preparation and training ahead of his collegiate career.

“Their winter training is super impactful,” Lloyd says. “They have some of the best equipment and staff in the game.”

The Alabama commit values his relationship with new head coach Kalen DeBoer, and it made all the difference in choosing between top-tier schools like Stanford, Ohio State and University of Texas. DeBoer was the coach that originally showed interest in the offensive lineman at the University of Washington and was one of Lloyd’s first major D-I offers, even leading to a feature in Sports Illustrated. DeBoer was hired as the head coach of Alabama after he offered Lloyd at Washington and as a coach at Alabama made Lloyd a recruiting priority.

“It’s about where he feels most comfortable,” says athletic director Golden Anderson.

The 247Sports Composite had Lloyd tabbed as the No. 17 prospect in California and the No. 19 offensive tackle in the 2025 class at the time of his commitment. The 6-foot-7-inch 290-pound offensive tackle held down the line last year when he helped lead Carmel to a 10-1 season overall and 6-0 in league. It was around that time when he received his first Division-I offer from University of California, Los Angeles, though he had been building relationships with coaches since his freshman year.

“Its history and great coaching staff was why I decided on Alabama,” says Lloyd.

The four-star recruit looks forward to upping his strength training at the University of Alabama. He holds multiple lifting records at Carmel High with a 355-pound bench press max and a 545-pound squat max.

“They have high tech lifting mechanics equipment with screens and videos,” says the lineman.

The football season is just beginning, and Lloyd will be taking leadership of a strong Carmel High football team.

“He’s got nothing to prove here,” Anderson says. “I look forward to seeing him play more carefree, but I know he’s a school minded guy, and he wants to see the team succeed.”

They have already played Christopher, and their first league game is Sept. 27 against Soledad at home.
