By RILEY PALSHAW
One of the Carmel Sandpiper’s very own, second-year staff writer Emma Brown, has just published a poetry collection entitled Hues of Blues.
This paperback book includes poems that Brown has been working on from middle school through early in her sophomore year. All of the poems are filed into one of the following hues of blue, hence the title: royal, sky, navy or periwinkle, each corresponding with a particular mood.
Brown’s poems come together to describe the life of a teenage girl as she faces the ups and downs of her adolescence. In that sense, any teenager can relate to the book, as well as full grown adults as they reflect on their past.
The young writer not only includes her own original works in this book, but also hand-drawn illustrations amid the pages.
Hues of Blues can be found on Amazon now for $7.99.
