Jeff Rogers has joined the Carmel High School college counseling team and is ready to help students find a path to success.
The veteran counselor has worked with youth for over 20 years, mainly in Santa Clarita at West Ranch High School. WRHS was a larger high school where Rogers worked with all the students as opposed to focusing primarily on college and career guidance.
“We didn’t have just a college and career counselor,” Rogers says about his time at WRHS. “At CHS, I can focus on more of what I’m passionate about which is really helping kids connect things they accomplish in high school with their college dreams.”
Rogers’ time in Santa Clarita helped many kids find their strengths and a path that lead to college or a career, emphasizing that students need to find their strengths in high school in order to be successful in college or a career.
“I really want students to identify their strengths and develop them in order to thrive,” Rogers says. “Know thy self.”
The counselor is excited to be part of the community and to be working on one of his passions. He does admit, however, that it will take time for him to adjust to the culture of the school and the community around him.
Rogers is looking forward to helping students find college and career paths as well as building upon the CHS counseling department.
