CHS bids a warm farewell to four retirees

As the year comes to a close, Carmel High School says goodbye to this year’s retiring staff, including counselor Jennifer Goodbody librarian Elena Loomis and school nurse Susan Pierszalowski, who have worked for CUSD for more than a decade each, and special education teacher Therese Strutner who has worked for the district for 18 years.

All four women say they’re looking forward to retirement, but will miss being able to help and interact with students on a day-to-day basis. Loomis will miss advising for the diversity club and helping students in general. Strutner notes she will miss her work, her dream job and her fellow staff.

“I have truly loved being a high school counselor,” adds Goodbody, who has worked at CHS for 11 years. “It has been the joy of my life.”
